My name is Julia White I am 18 years old and a first year student at the University of Maine. I went through the Shaker Regional School district prior to coming to UMaine, where I received my high school diploma. I have lived in Belmont, New Hampshire with my family for my entire life. I work at Old Navy at the Tanger Outlets in Tilton, New Hampshire.
I am studying New Media because of the skills that I will learn. I plan on putting the skills I am learning in New Media into some sort of Advertising/Marketing degree. What first made me interested in New Media is the passion behind the professors teaching us. The next thing that got me interested was the idea of emerging technologies, and being able to use all of the technologies as they are created, and if I cannot use them, I have a skill set that will help me figure out how to solve them. I am inspired because I enjoy making something for myself, and knowing I did everything by myself, or with minimal help, to get the task done.
